It’s going to “snow” in Seattle tonight. We’re expecting about an inch or two. Seattle gets the occassional snow and when we do, it’s really bad – for drivers.*
Here’s just one street on Capitol Hill during a snow fall three years ago. It’s a about two inches on the ground and it’s a complete road nightmare…
…and this was before budgets cuts. The City of Seattle used to plow 30 percent of the roads and they will now only allot for 10 percent – and no side streets at all!
*because Seattle’s ground is warm, the first layer of any snow melts then freezes causing a coat of very slippery ice on the bottom and very slushy snow on top. Seattle is not a bunch of snow wimps. Ice + hills – plow budget = HOLY SH!T, look out!
