Here’s why the poor have gadgets but are still poor (Tweet of the Week)

Many conservatives (and those who are missing the empathy gene) like to claim that “America’s poor aren’t poor because they have HD televisions and cellphones.”

Let’s ignore the economic illiteracy of that belief and focus on the fact that one can, in fact, be poor and have an XBox…

…and that is NOT the reason why more and more Americans are stuck in poverty.
